Being Active is a Lifelong Goal
Life’s More Fun After 50! Active Older Adult members at the Y experience a strong sense of belonging and create a network of friends that provide support for sustained health and well-being. We offer unlimited group exercise and water fitness classes, as well as programs to help manage arthritis, reduce the risk of falls, prevent and control diabetes, regain strength after cancer and more. Clubs, group outings and volunteer opportunities are also available.
Active Older Adults, SilverSneakers, Renew Active and Silver&Fit are the YMCA’s programs for today’s active adults 55 and older.
Our branches offer low-impact group exercise classes like Chair Yoga, Senior Cycle, SilverSneakers and Silver&Fit, and water aerobics classes that are easy on the joints and muscles. Register here to reserve a spot in our classes. Opportunities for seniors to socialize and our events that include Lunch and Movie, Lunch and Learn, Birthday Lunches, day trips and more will resume soon. Please continue to check back for updates.
Other programs such as the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program and LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA for cancer survivors are also available for older adults who seek to improve on their health and wellness using a virtual format. Contact Holly Daniels, Evidence-based Coordinator at Email Holly for additional information on our virtual classes.
Also, ask about our personal trainers at any of our three YMCA branches who can tailor your workouts and help you achieve your fitness goals. Fitness is for everyone!
