Outreach Programs
Through community health resources, food distribution, ESL classes and more, we are able to help bridge the gaps within our area.
Play Days
The Y and the Trinity Community Foundation have partnered to provide needed outreach services in our community. Play Days is a day where children in the underserved community of Arlington can enjoy a light breakfast, lunch, and a day just to be a kid and play. This volunteer opportunity asks volunteers to shower love and attention on the children, while playing with them, facilitating games and activities and/or teaching them a new sports skill. They also provide needed information on how to contact community resources to our families in these communities, such as food, rent assistance and other resources that the community would not otherwise have access to. Play Days is a collaboration between the Y, Trinity Community Foundation, Trinity Methodist Church and the Arlington Police Department.
Food, Gifts, and Backpack Distribution
During some of the busiest seasons of the year for families in need: the holidays and back-to-school time, the Y collaborates with local organizations and area school districts with generous help from its members to collect and donate critical food supplies, holiday gifts for children and school supplies. Check back here for more information on upcoming drives.
Blood Drives and Mammogram Screenings
Keeping our community healthy through regular blood drives and seasonal mammogram screening bus visits at our YMCA locations across Arlington and Mansfield. Check here for upcoming drives and locations.
Get Involved
Togetherhood is a volunteer-led community service and social responsibility program.  Â
The Y’s Togetherhood program connects people from all backgrounds to plan and carry out volunteer projects that address a real need in their community. It is designed to unlock people’s potential to improve lives and create a more connected society. Â
Benefits of Volunteering:Â
For the volunteer: Volunteering can improve personal well-being, build relationships, and provide an outlet to discover purpose.Â
For the community: Bringing diverse people together to tackle social issues creates more cohesive communities. A culture of volunteerism can also yield social benefits such as lower unemployment, greater income equality, and youth that are more likely to stay in school and avoid risky behaviorsÂ
We collaborate with community organizations such as TransformUs Movement, Inc., The Miracle League, Cancer Care Services, and Trinity Community Foundation to strengthen our impact and extend our reach. We will offer projects for services in our community that are well-planned and provide you with the best volunteer experience possible and to provide our community with meaningful services.Â
All volunteers are required to complete the following forms. You may download the forms, complete them and turn them in at any of our Y locations.Â
