AMA YMCA Named DIG Innovation Network YMCA
A DIG Innovation YMCA is a pioneer Y dedicated to creating, strengthening and replicating innovative diversity, inclusion and global services, partnerships and best practices at home and abroad that foster greater community cohesion and social equity for all.
DIG Innovation Ys drive and showcase the U.S. YMCA movement’s efforts to advance diversity and inclusion and build a global community in partnership with the YMCA of the USA and other local YMCAs.
AMA YMCA Participates in Dragon Boat Festival
The YMCA is proud to partner with the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce for its yearly Dragon Boat Race in Arlington!
Dragon Boat Racing is fast gaining popularity around the United States and around the world. The sport of Dragon Boat Racing is fun, challenging, promotes wellness and provides a unique opportunity for team building & team participation.
The event is open to the public at no charge. Spectators will enjoy a day of fun in the sun with many Asian cultural activities such as Asian folk dancing, Asian food trucks, calligraphy and includes activities for children such as Children’s Reading Booth, Paper Folding Booth, and Asian Painting booth to name just a few.

DIG Committee
As part of the YMCA’s commitment to integrating DIG work, the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMC Board of Directors formed a standing committee to help guide the YMCA in these efforts. The committee is composed of community leaders from the local police, school district, university, and nonprofit leaders.
Staff Diversity & Inclusion Council
The AMA YMCA formed the first staff DIG Committee in 2019 and the first Staff Diversity & Inclusion Council in November 2021, to enhance our DIG efforts for our staff. Purpose Statement: “We strive to foster an inclusive culture that provides key resources and developmental opportunities that encourage staff to reach their full potential while maintaining our many differences and cross-cultural understanding.”
