Licensing and Administration
The Summer Day Camp program is administered by the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA. All sites are licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS). For more information on childcare standards, visit the TDFPS website.
All Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA Childcare programs are staffed with qualified, trained personnel who meet strict YMCA standards. The YMCA hires staff through careful selection, and our staff and child ratios strive to be 1:15. References and two criminal history background checks are obtained on all employees. Staff are trained in YMCA policies and procedures, as well as First Aid, AED, O2, and CPR.
Sites are inspected every week by YMCA supervisors to ensure quality. The Childcare Director visits each site at least twice during the school year; in addition to these inspections, the State of Texas inspects our sites.
Upon registration for Summer Day Camp, all parents will have access to the program’s guidebook. It is important that all parents read and understand the guidebook prior to your child’s first day in the program. For more information or questions about the parent guidebooks please download the below guidebooks or contact your Child Care Department.
