Our youth track and field program is designed to provide children with the opportunity to learn the proper running and field event techniques, speed development, and an overall appreciation for the sport. The AMA YMCA participates as a team in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (T.A.A.F) Track & Field program, Region 4.
Meet Location(s): Region-wide (all meet locations are TBD in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro Area)
Member Priority Registration Begins: March 22
Non-Member Registration Begins: March 29
Late Registration Begins: April 26 and ends May 10 ($10 late fee applies)
Practices: T.A. Howard Middle School – Tuesdays and Thursdays (6PM ages 7-9 / 7PM ages 10-12)
Circuit Meets: June 4 (Lake Dallas High School), June 11 (Summit High School), June 18 (Lake Dallas High School), June 25 (Mineral Wells High School)
Regional Meet: Roo Stadium (Weatherford, TX) – July 7 and July 8
Registration Cost: $69 for members (supply fee), $119 for non-members
Team Registration: Parents will be charged an $11.00 T.A.A.F. registration team fee prior to the first circuit meet.
Circuit Meet Registration: There is a $5.00-7.00 entry fee for athletes at circuit meets.
Additional Spectator Fees: $5 T.A.A.F. spectator fee, per person for each circuit meet. Higher fees for regional and state meets may apply.
What’s Provided: All track and field equipment and track jersey (shirt and shorts)
Equipment Needed: Water bottle & sneakers. Participants should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing ideal for track (t-shirt, shorts, track shoes/running shoes).
• Hurdles: 80M, 100M, 110M, 200M, 300M
• Relays: 400M, 1600M
• Run: 800M, 1600M
• Dash/Sprints: 50M, 100M, 200M, 400M
• Long jump, high jump

Meet Our Coach
Coach Isaiah McFail grew up in Mansfield, Texas. He is a graduate of Mansfield Summit High School, where he began his track career and placed in District for achieving a 10.8 100m sprint and 6’4” in high jump.
Isaiah received a scholarship in track and field to Abilene Christian University before transferring to Texas A&M to major in Business Management. Isaiah finished his A&M-Commerce career as the school record holder in the indoor 60m dash and the outdoor 4x100m relay. He was an All-American selection in the 60m and the 4x100m relay, a three-time All-Region Selection and an All-LSC selection, and finished in the top-three 16 times in his career, including four first-place finishes.
Isaiah returned to Summit High School to help the Jaguars track team after graduating, and is now a special education teacher & track and field coach at TA Howard Middle School. Isaiah has a passion for building relationships and helping students succeed. Coach McFail looks forward to developing future athletes of all ages for years to come!
