Under the direction of the Membership & Healthy Lifestyles Director, the Kidzone Coordinator is responsible for planning and oversight of the Kidzone program. All programs will be administered in a manner which is consistent with YMCA goals and policies. This includes assisting the Healthy Living Director in overseeing and training Kidzone staff, as well as program evaluation, safety control, and planning for future activities. Coordinator must have the willingness to project the YMCA representation by personal adherence to all policies and must exemplify the YMCA of Arlington values of Faith, Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. This employee must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, weekends or holidays as needed. Must adhere to Risk Management and safety practices; be courteous and respectful to all staff and participants.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

 Responsible for assisting in maintaining program quality and safety
 Assist in training and overseeing Kidzone staff to ensure quality daily administration, program, planning, implementation, and staff/child ratios
 Assist in scheduling Kidzone staff
 Ability to reschedule staff or substitute for staff as needed
 Develop and maintain relationships with parents in the Kidzone program
 Respond to all parent, and staff inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
 Report all injuries and unsafe conditions by completing an incident report immediately and submitting it to your supervisor
 Ensure YMCA program standards are met and all safety procedures are followed
 Ensure toys and equipment are properly cleaned daily and program areas are safe
 Maintain proper and accurate records and departmental files

Physical Demands

 Must be at least 21 years of age
 Must have high school diploma or GED
 Must pass TB test before beginning Kidzone duties
 Must have a valid driver license
 Must have dependable transportation
 Must have experience working in early childhood
 Knowledge of child development and positive discipline techniques
 Excellent verbal and written communication
 Must have strong skills in planning, organizing, and relationship building
 Must pass Criminal Background Check and MVR- Motor Vehicle (must have insurable driver’s record)
 Ability to meet the needs of members
 Must be able to work effectively with a diversity of people, different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and all ages. Interacts regularly with parents, volunteers, and staff
 Must have and maintain current CPR Pro/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens training and other trainings required. Must attend staff meetings as assigned.
