Job Description:

Under the direction of the Childcare Director, the SACC Site Director is responsible for implementing appropriate and quality activities with children ages 5-13 years old, properly supervising children, ensuring the safety of all the children and employees at the site, and overseeing child care counselors at the SACC site. He/She is also responsible for operating the SACC program following TDFPS guidelines as outlined in Minimum Standards for Child Care. He/She will insure all staff follow childcare and Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA policies and procedures at all times. This employee will keep proper records and paperwork at all times. Will maintain and keep all supplies stocked as needed. Must move quickly to attend to an injured or ill child and initiate proper first aid procedures (ability to transport a child only if necessary). He/She will report any staff or child accident or suspected child abuse to the Child Care Program Director as soon as possible and follow proper reporting procedures. A SACC Site Director must have the willingness to project the YMCA representation by personal adherence to all policies and must exemplify the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA values of Faith, Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. He/She must interact appropriately with children and be a good role model at all times. This employee must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, weekends or holidays as needed. Must adhere to Risk Management and safety practices; be courteous and respectful to all staff and participants

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Proper supervision of SACC counselors
 Create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere and program for staff and participants
 Responsible for set up and clean up of the site
 Proper supervision of children
 Implement curriculum and provide appropriate and exceptional quality activities for children such as but not limited to indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, homework assistance, snack, character values devotions, science projects, SACC clubs
 Assure compliance with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services licensing and local regulations
 Ensure YMCA program standards are met and all safety procedures are followed
 Maintain proper and accurate records
 CCMS procedures
 Report suspected child abuse or other safety and quality issues
 Respond to all parent inquiries and concerns in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age
 High school diploma or GED
 Must have or obtain a current TB test prior to employment; must complete all required trainings
 Must have reliable transportation
 Must have a valid driver license
 Must pass Criminal Background Checks
 Must be able to work effectively with a diversity of people, different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and all ages. Interacts regularly with parents, volunteer, staff and other community leaders
 Must have and maintain current CPR Pro/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens Hazard communication, and Slips trips and falls training and other trainings required.
